Senior Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation gained through a combination of public accounting and private industry experience. This role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The Senior Accountant will partner with cross-functional teams and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and improving accounting processes. 85-95k DOE
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements.
- Analyze financial results and identify variances, trends, and areas of concern.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Manage fixed assets, accruals, prepaids, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Collaborate with operational leaders and departments to support business initiatives and financial reporting needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
- Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Combination of public accounting and private industry experience strongly preferred.
- CPA designation or CPA-track preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments.
Preferred Background
- Public accounting experience with exposure to audit, assurance, or advisory engagements.
- Industry experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and operational accounting functions.
- Experience working in a growing or complex business environment.
- Ability to balance technical accounting knowledge with a practical, business-minded approach.
